Critics often receive free or comp tickets and attend press openings and events not generally available to the public.  Think of it as a form of barter and communications.  Every effort will be made to evaluate and eliminate any real or perceived conflict of interest.

A live performance changes from night to night and you may see a completely different show than did this critic. Even a static, replicable performance like a movie will change from viewing to viewing: you the audience will see it differently from one time to another.

The writer has no affiliation with the media and as such has no constraints on content or space.  Neither is he associated with any theater or school or that other arbiter of taste, The Helen Hayes Awards.  So he'll try always to provide the reader with a point of view that is not clouded by corporate policy, mission statement, or the bottom line.

The postings may change slightly based on my own thinking or comments received.  Any major revisions will be reported as such.
